Powerful Tools for the Second Half of Life - Cultivating and Sharing the Wisdom of Your Life

New in 2011
Mining Your Past-Designing Your Future: Embracing Your Life's Potential
After we reach age 50 we can look back on our past and know that we are not the same  person we were 20 years ago, only 20 years older.  We are wiser, possess greater perspective and knowledge and can make better life choices. We are an informal chat group who enjoys discussion, information, laughing and other enlightening activities.  Our agenda is planned and facilitated by participants.  We will explore creativity, courage, life purpose and recreating ourselves with our spiritual knowledge, humor and passion to guide us.

People House 3035 W. 25th Ave. in Denver every other Friday evening from 6:30-8:30  through August.  You are welcome to drop in.  But please give me a call if this is your first time. For more information call 303-745-1377 or e-mail- powerfultools.barb@gmail.com

What Makes You Come Alive?
Many people enter the second half of life without any conscious thought given to how they want to spend the very valuable years ahead.  They often are tied to old
cultural myths like to be old is to be sick, that we will soon loose our memory and that younger people have more to give.  We will explore the opportunities to change those myths into the exciting opportunities that we have at our disposal today.  Let's discover how to use the strengths that are ours today to create magnificent future.

What's in Your Bucket?
Living with Less and Loving it
The buckets marked freedom, possibilities and creativity may seem quite full. The bucket marked money, maybe, not so much. We will talk about embracing all of our present opportunities and discover the art of living
                        abundantly.

Go Gratitude!

If you choose to come to this gathering, be prepared to feel more alive and consistently happier than ever.  Be prepared to give thanks for a sunny day, a rainy day, a hot day or just any day at all.  Be prepared to feel more alert optimistic, energetic and basically more satisfied with life.  It's easy and it's fun.  Let's celebrate this opportunity to learn more about the magic of feeling grateful.

Appreciating Your Life Stories-
You are the star of your unique and very special life. Your life changing experiences, be they happy or sad, have made you the exceptional person you are today. We will share stories about how  experiences in our earlier life have made us who we are today.

"There was never an uninteresting life.  Such a thing is utterly impossible.  Inside the dullest exterior, there is a comedy, a drama and a tragedy."  Mark Twain

Laugh for No Reason- Laughter can be dangerous to any illness and is guaranteed to change your life. We will learn how to be like children again and use this wonderous ability to, among other things, boosts our immune system, release endorphins (feel good chemicals), improve function of blood vessels and increase our sense of incredible well being.  And it is so easy!
"You can only be young once, but you can always be immature."  Dave Berry

Call to Creativity- You are creative! Creativity is the innate capacity to think a new thought and to act on it.  It could be but doesn't have to be art or music.  It could be fixing your car or just the way you life your life.  Science is writing new stories about our brain and how creativity is an ever-developing and dynamic aspect of our growth. You will leave our time together more familiar with you creative talents and how you can use them to bring more joy to     your life.

I Love My Mind-Actually, the old wives tales about what happens to our brains as we get older are mostly false. To live the life that we truly deserve, it is time that we erase the myths that have made us fearful about our brain and embrace some new and exciting research.  As Dr. Gene Cohen writes in The Creative Age, "It is clear that our brain function and creative potential don't diminish as other systems do." You will leave this time together excited about the possibilities that you have to  revolutionize your thoughts about the possibilities available to you at this time of life.
